Problems
On 16th September 2017:
The problem that was to be given a thought for the next
discussion was the following:
What is $\lim\limits_{x\to\infty}\cos (x) $ and how do you
justify your answer?
· Does not exist formally
· Oscillates between +1 and -1.
The correct answer is it does not exist formally. Few people
justified by approaching via Taylor expansion of cosine but it was discussed
whether it was right to switch the summation and limit or not and how to
justify if so? The proof shall be discussed in the next discussion by Jishu
Das, 5th Year DMS.
